Find me Their Bones is the second book in a new young adult fantasy trilogy by Sara Wolf. I loved this book. The end of the first book gutted me. I felt like I was right along side of Zera, and I felt her pain. It felt like my heart was ripped out as well! So to say I was eagerly awaiting the second book in the series, was a huge understatement. The Bring Me Their Hearts series is a darker fantasy series that has a fantastic romance woven into a really cool plotline. It is the story of Zera, who is a heartless. A heartless is someone who has lost their heart to a witch. And as long as the witch holds their heart, they are under the control of said witch. In this second installment we learn even more about the witches, the heartless and how it fits into a bigger plot in their world. I loved that we also got to learn about other creatures and how they too tie into the theme of control. (with the bone tree)
Zera is such a fascinating character. I loved her even more than I did in the first book. She sees herself a monster (for a variety of reasons), but her shades of morality make her super interesting. That and her mouth. She has sass for days! In fact, the only thing sharper than her heartless teeth is her tongue. She is not afraid to give a verbal lashing to anyone, which is one of the things I loved about her. Find me Their Bones brings us so many of the characters I have come to love from the first book, but we also get to meet new characters, like Prince Lucian’s sister, who threw me for a surprise right from the start of the book. And of course, there is more Lucian himself. He is totally a book boyfriend of mine. I heart the heck out of him.
Find me Their Bones was a very strong sequel, and just like with the first book, I was hooked on every page, every word. Sara Wolf has a way of weaving a hauntingly addicting story. I flippin love her books, and Find me Their Bones is no exception. I fell for this book hardcore. The plot is getting bigger and bigger, and I am here for all of it! This is a world that I am so in love with. I am not ready to say goodbye to these characters yet. I am hoping that this expands from a trilogy into a much larger series.
Bottom line: Fans of dark fantasies, with a healthy dose of sass and romance will absolutely love the Bring Me Their Hearts series. It is one of my favorite fantasy series!
