─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───From author Ashlyn Lance comes a captivating first in the series book, Moonlight and Fire—a coming of age tale set in a medieval world where magic still reigns. With epic romance, mythical creatures and page-turning battles, this is a book you cannot put down! Come along for the journey as Princess Lunielle grows beyond what she ever thought was possible!
Moonlight and Fire is the first book in the Fallen Princess series by author Ashlyn Vance. The Fallen Princess series is a young adult fantasy romance. I thought this book was a solid first book to the series, though it felt a little rushed in parts I did enjoy that it was a quick read for me. This is great for readers looking for a coming of age fantasy story and those readers that appreciate age appropriate characters with satisfying character growth.
In Moonlight and Fire we meeting our main characters, Princess Lunielle, who comes across as very young and spoiled at first. Which made perfect sense to me because she is a young princess. She annoyed me at times, but overall I really appreciated her characters growth through her journey and I am looking forward to even more growth in future books. Princess Lunielle is being called upon to try and save her kingdom from Starvation (among other things). Princess Lunielle does not start out as the most enthusiastic helper, but her journey is really eye opening and I enjoyed her much more after she met Aurion, who is a horticulturalist meant to try and help her to restore her kingdoms farmlands. Throw in a prince looking to marry Lunielle and you have the makings of an interesting and easy reading fantasy.
This book was fast paced and there was a nice romance added in. I think this book is perfect for younger readers of ya and for people looking for romantic fantasy adventures with no spice. I really enjoyed it and am looking forward to see where the series is going to go next.
