My imitation of our billionaire boss had everyone ROFL. Well…almost everyone. Worst. Butt-dial. Ever!
It was just some silly fun. A goofy imitation of the faceless mega-billionaire who owns our faceless international mega-corporation.
And yes, there was laughter. Possibly a few hoots and screams.
How was I to know that Dave from accounting had sat on the speakerphone, butt-dialing said mega-billionaire? Or that he’d listen to me make fun of him for ten straight minutes.
Ummm…he could’ve announced himself!
They say he’s a notorious rake. A paparazzi-punching scoundrel. An international jet-set bad boy.
And now I hear he’s determined to track down the jokester. Me.
Eep!
But we’re tight like family in this office—no way will my co-workers rat me out, in spite of the pressure from the top. Plus, who brings the cookies? Moi!
Things die down after a few months, and I’m pretty sure I’m safe.
Thank goodness, because I have my hands full with our lazy, arrogant new office gopher. He has the worst work ethic I’ve ever seen—how did he even get hired? He doesn’t know how to work a vending machine, and he’s baffled when we send around a card to be signed for somebody’s birthday. It’s as if he’s never set foot in a place of business in his life.
But little by little, we're drawing closer. He's funny. Sexy. Wicked. Still, he’s all wrong for me. I like respectable men with a work ethic.
Also, I can’t shake the feeling that he’s hiding something…

Butt-dialing the Billionaire is the seventh book in the Billionaires of Manhattan series by Annika Martin. I do not believe this series needs to be read in order, this book is the first book in the series I have read and I felt that the story stood all on its’ own. This book was a quick read and was pure irreverent fun. I didn’t take the book too seriously and I had a good time while breezing through it. I did find myself getting a little annoyed in parts when I started to take the book and characters more seriously, but overall if you are looking for an easy fun read, I think you may enjoy Butt Dialing the Billionaire.
Our main characters are Jada and Jaxon. Jaxon just lost both of his parents and is now ditching his care free partying ways (kind of) to step up and run the families business empire. He is delivering speeches to the various companies when he hears a woman over the speaker phone making fun of him. To get to the bottom of it, he decides to go under cover as a worker to figure out who the mystery woman was and punish her accordingly. To say Jaxon is removed from the ordinary working class world is a complete understatement. He really rubbed me the wrong way when he started working with Jada. The book is told in dual narrative between their point of views and I really liked that narration style.
Jaxon and Jada clashed from their very first meeting, and I thought it was funny how intriguing this was for Jaxon. Jada was definitely my favorite character in the story, and if it wasn’t for her, I think I would have given up on Jaxon early on. He didn’t have as much depth as Jada did.
Bottom line- If you are looking for a light hearted and fun read of pure escapism- Butt Dialing the Billionaire might do the trick. I didn’t love it quite as much as I wanted to, but I did have a good time while reading it.
