**Please Note: this is the third book in a series that should be read in order. There may be spoilers for the first two books. If you are new to the series, you can see my review of the first two books HERE**
The Charlie Hernández & The Golden Dooms is the third book in the middle grade Charlie Hernandez Series by Ryan Calejo. This is a middle grade adventure series Inspired by Hispanic folklore, legends, and myths. I think this series is perfect for middle grade readers and older readers because it is just pure fun. If you are as big of a fan of legends and mythology as I am, you need to read the Charlie Hernández Series. You will love it!
This book picks up after the events of the first two books, which Charlie landing himself a big ole grounding after he romped all over the place on his last adventure. He is in big big trouble, but you just know that he has more adventure in store for him. I loved the vivid imagery that Ryan Calejo conjured with his prose, and I really loved the characters. In this installment, we learn even more about Charlie’s special abilities, which I loved. View Spoiler » Here Charlie and Violet are back again to track down the Golden Dooms, which are guardians of the borders between realms, and here their gang has grown by one- Charlie’s cousin Raul.
The Charlie Hernández Series is a wonderful quest style adventure filled with great characters, oodles and oodles of myths filled with fierce creatures and monsters and lots of magic to keep readers of all ages entertained. I love these books! The author does such a cool job of mixing in the ordinary with the extraordinary, and as a result the story he weaves is one that kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. I cannot wait for more from the Charlie Hernández Series. This series is perfect for fans of Rick Riordan’s series (any of them!), J.C. Cervantes’ Storm Runner Series, or Roshani Chokshi’s Pandava Quartet.

This is the first time I have ever heard of this author and this book he has written. I really am glad I entered this giveaway! I love to read! My interest in this book is very high!!
I would like to know what made him pick this type of storyline?? Was it your nationality? I’m truly intrigued! I like to find a little out about the author before I read their books.
