Inspiration can come from the most unlikely—and inconvenient—sources.

Kara Sullivan’s life is full of love—albeit fictional. As a bestselling romance novelist and influential bookstagrammer, she’s fine with getting her happily-ever-after fix between the covers of a book.

But right now? Not only is Kara’s best friend getting married next week—which means big wedding stress—but the deadline for her next novel is looming, and she hasn’t written a single word. The last thing she needs is for her infuriating first love, Ryan Thompson, to suddenly appear in the wedding party. But Ryan’s unexpected arrival sparks a creative awakening in Kara that inspires the steamy historical romance she desperately needs to deliver.

With her wedding duties intensifying, her deadline getting closer by the second and her bills not paying themselves, Kara knows there’s only one way for her to finish her book and to give her characters the ever-after they deserve. But can she embrace the unlikely, ruggedly handsome muse—who pushes every one of her buttons—to save the wedding, her career and, just maybe, write her own happy ending?

"A fun and sexy romp, with chemistry that gave me all the feels!" —Jennifer Probst, New York Times bestselling author of Our Italian Summer
"Add this book to your TBR list immediately!" —Sarah Smith, author of Faker

My Thoughts

Talk Bookish to Me is an adult contemporary romance by debut author Kate Bromley. I was utterly charmed by this book. I honestly loved every second of my reading experience here. Talk Bookish to Me is a combination of second chance romance with an element of enemies to lovers. The two main characters, Kara and Ryan dated in college and they did not end on good terms. They both have a lot of hate for each other in their hearts. Or is it love? If you are a fan of second chance love and smart, adorable and compelling romances, then Talk Bookish to Me is a May release that you need to grab! I really loved this book, and I can’t wait to read more from Kate Bromley. I can’t believe this is her debut release.

In Talk Bookish to Me we meet our main character Kara as she is the maid of honor for her friend’s wedding. At one of the pre-wedding festivities she finds out that her first love, Ryan is one of the groomsman. Throw in some forced proximity and time together, one adorably overweight bulldog and you have a recipe for instant chemistry and an amazing time! I loved Kara and Ryan. You can obviously tell that these two have an intense history as a couple and each on their own. Talk Bookish to Me is such a compelling read because we get to watch these two individuals not only fall back in love with each other, but see what they missed out on in each other’s lives. It was such a beautiful story! There are plenty of ups and downs with Kara and Ryan, but I loved the moments where they just let themselves be the most. When they are together and relaxed, they are pure magic. It was also super satisfying to watch each of their individual character growth in the span of their story. Kate Bromley did an excellent job making them feel completely relatable and realistic.

Kara is an author who is having a hard time finding inspiration for her newest novel. Inspiration that seems to come easy when she is around Ryan. I loved that Kara is an author and a bookstagrammer. It was so much fun to listen to her talk about her book setups and the bookstagram world. The author aspect of the story had similar vibes to Beach Read by Emily Henry, which is another book that I loved. Talk Bookish to Me is a fantastic romance that would be perfect for a movie. (big screen or small screen) Talk Bookish to Me is an upcoming release that you will not want to miss. Talk Bookish to Me is a fantastic romance!
