Hi Guys! I know things have been super weird, and scary lately with the COVID-19 pandemic, but I wanted bring a bit of fun YA news that you can enjoy without leaving your house.

There are all kinds of fun author events happening virtually. All you have to do is RSVP and you can meet your favorite authors, hear great panels and get all kinds of juicy YA gossip (I am assuming…you will actually have to attend the events to find out.)

Are you like me, always wanting to go to YALLWEST, but never able to make it to the west coast? Well, this year everyone can join in on the fun of YALLWEST right from the comfort of your house!

That’s right…

YALLWEST is going virtual!

YALLWEST is turning into YALLSTAYHOME, coming up April 25-262020.

You can visit their website HERE and register to attend!

This year’s YALLWEST, the nation’s #1 young adult book festival, is going virtual for its sixth year! YALLWEST has been such a well-loved event by Los Angeles’s YA readers, and now, anyone, anywhere can “attend.”  On Saturday April 25 and Sunday April 26, the festival will host two full days of panels with more than 70 bestselling and award-winning authors. It’s free and open to everyone with advance registration.

Full schedule and registration can be found at yallwest.com/schedule

Rebranded as YALLSTAYHOME, this free event will feature a weekend of online panel discussions, giveaways, games and more. Special events will surround the festival, with promotions across social media platforms. Additionally, the festival is connecting participating authors with twenty underserved Los Angeles schools for virtual visits via Zoom and providing e-books to their students.

Festival founders and #1 New York Times bestselling authors Margaret Stohl (Beautiful Creatures) and Melissa de la Cruz (The Queen’s Assassin) open the event at 10:00 AM (PDT) by discussing their decade-long collaboration culminating in their upcoming novel, Jo & Laurie. Starsight and Mistborn series author Brandon Sanderson will lead the afternoon keynote at 4:00 PM (PDT). Saturday closes as Angie Thomas, author of the #1 New York Times bestselling blockbusters On the Come Up and The Hate U Give, host the annual YALLWEST SMACKDOWN variety show with Nic Stone (Dear Martin). Pseudonymous Bosch and Shane Pangburn host a Middle Grade Storyball on Sunday at 10:00 AM (PDT).

The entire YALLSTAYHOME experience will end with a star-studded lineup of authors reading their earliest writing on Sunday, April 26th at 5:00 PM (PDT).

Friday, April 24th will be a Fierce Friday Preview event from 4:00 PM-7:00 PM (PDT).

This event is also free, but registration is required.
Full event schedule and panel registration can be found at yallwest.com/schedule.
