The Fist Kiss Hypothesis by Christina Mandelski is a young adult standalone romance. I have started and stopped several young adult contemporary romances lately. I just haven’t been able to click with the characters or the plot…or something (I think because I have been on such a fantasy kick) but all of that changed the moment I picked up The Fist Kiss Hypothesis. I LOVED this novel. Like, really loved it. I loved the characters, I loved the romance, I loved the plot. All of it just worked for me. I could not stop smiling while reading The Fist Kiss Hypothesis, which is always a good sign.
The Fist Kiss Hypothesis is the story of next door neighbors, and best friends, Nora and Eli. They have both had a crush on each other for a while, but Nora has totally written Eli off because he failed her The Fist Kiss Hypothesis. You see, Nora is a scientist and because her grandma said she knew right from the moment she met her grandpa that he was it for her, Nora thinks that she can tell whether or not the guy will be the one based on their first kiss. So she goes on a kissing spree, and poor Eli was the first test back when they were pre-teens. Bad kiss= friendzoned Eli.
Eli is the best! He is really the best guy. I loved how good of a friend he is to Nora. He is always looking out for her. And he is seriously so sweet. I want Eli all for myself. Which is why he is making my top book boyfriends of 2017 list. I loved Nora as well, but Nora and Eli together, well that was magic. I was rooting for them right from the start. Yes, Nora’s logic was faulty. Yes, it is clear as day that Eli and Nora were into each other, but it didn’t matter. Their story was so cute, I didn’t want to miss an instant of it. I flew through this book, and I didn’t want it to end.
Bottom line: If you are a fan of cute best friends romances, The Fist Kiss Hypothesis is one you will not want to miss. Honestly, I am kind of shocked it doesn’t have a higher goodreads rating. This book is an easy 5 star read for me! The Fist Kiss Hypothesis is one of the best young adult contemporary romances I have read all year, and Eli is one of my favorite book boyfriends. I can’t recommend this book enough if you are looking for a cute read that is sure to put a smile on your face.

I really liked this one too. I always like a good friends-to-more story, and these two had so much history, which just made it that much better. The “hail mary” put a stupid smile on my face and the ending was just perfect. Yep, pie fixes everything.
