THE ADVENTURER’S GUILD is a middle grade adventure story by authors and friends Zack Loran Clark & Nick Eliopulos. The Adventurer’s Guild was a ton of fun! I really enjoyed this book. And can I just go off on a tangent really quickly to mention how detailed and gorgeous this book is? From the absolutely stunning map end pages, to the wonderfully designed chapter pages, I really love all the detail that went into the hardcover version of this book. It gets an A+!
I love a good middle grade novel. And I love a good adventure novel filled with magic. And The Adventurer’s Guild knocked both of those loves out of the ball park. This was a great book! The Adventurer’s Guild follows two friends, Zed and Brock. I loved their friendship. What I loved the most about it, is that the boys come from different class levels in the story. Brock is expected to join the merchants because of his wealthy family. And Zed wants to make his mark on the Mage’s. But they both end up in the Adventurer’s Guild, and off they go!
The world Zack and Nick have created is so vibrant and vivid. I feel like it is the perfect setting for a middle grade novel. Speaking of age groups, I feel like this novel will appeal to both readers of middle grade and young adult. I see great crossover appeal here. You meet a whole cast of characters and creatures in The Adventurer’s Guild, but I think my favorite (other than our two main characters) were the dangers. Not because I liked them, but because I didn’t expect them to be a flippin’ creepy and scary as they were. They have doll like faces that split open to reveal their true beast underneath. They creeped me out!
Bottom line: I am completely in love with the world of The Adventurer’s Guild. It was a fun novel with great characters and a world I want more of. It is the perfect fantasy adventure novel for fans of middle grade and young adult a like. I can’t wait for book two!
