{Review+Giveaway} Riveted by @JayCrownover @Morrow_PB

{Review+Giveaway} Riveted by @JayCrownover @Morrow_PB

RIVETED by Jay Crownover is the third title in her Saints of Denver Series, which is a spinoff of her Marked Men Series. Riveted is a new adult contemporary romance. I have not read any of the books in either of these series, and even though each of the books can be read as standalones, i really regret not having read books 1 and 2 in the Saints of Denver Series. Because I already love these characters and I want to know their stories! Riveted had me completely riveted from the very first page. (Sorry, I couldn’t resist) This book is seriously so good y’all! Riveted is the story of Dixie Carmichael and Dash ‘Church’ Churchill. I loved the stark differences between Dixie and Church. Dixie is this eternal optimist. A total hopeless romantic that believes in the perfect fairy tale love story. I loved Dixie. You can’t help but want her to get her happy ending. And Church is jaded. Very jaded. How can he not be from his past…. Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} Weddings, Crushes, and Other Dramas by @Emily_Mc_Kay @EntangledTeen

{Review+Giveaway} Weddings, Crushes, and Other Dramas by @Emily_Mc_Kay @EntangledTeen

Weddings, Crushes, and Other Dramas is the sixth book in the Creative HeArts series, and the second, and final :(,  book in the Finn and Willa trilogy by Emily McKay. I have still not read the fourth or fifth book in the series,  but I have read books 1-3. I have said it before and I will say it again, I freakin love the way this series is done. Let me try and break it down for you, because it can be kind of confusing. The Creative HeArts series is all set at the same performing arts high school in Texas. There will be somewhere between 8-11 books in the series, and it will center around 4 different couples (at this time anyway). Each of the couples will get their own duology or trilogy, and each trilogy is written by a different author. But the books in the overall Creative HeArts series will rotate through each one of the three couples, so no two sequential books will be about the… Read more »

{Review} The Bone Season by Samantha Shannon @say_shannon @bloomsburykids

{Review} The Bone Season by Samantha Shannon @say_shannon @bloomsburykids

The Bone Season is the first book in the young adult fantasy/sci fi dystopian series, by the same name, by Samantha Shannon. I have put off reading this book for a while, and I am not really sure why. It was always a book that interested me on my TBR list, but like a million other titles, I just never got around to it. This year I charged myself with the goal of reading more books that have been sitting on my TBR list for far too long and one of the series near the top of my list was The Bone Season series. Especially with the release of the very anticipated third book later this year. I wanted to be caught up for the next book. And I am so glad that I finally read The Bone Season. It is a fantastic read that I would recommend to fantasy lovers everywhere. I think it will appeal to both fans of young adult and adult fantasy because the world that… Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} Royal Affair by Parker Swift @the_parkerswift @ForeverRomance

{Review+Giveaway} Royal Affair by Parker Swift @the_parkerswift @ForeverRomance

Royal Affair is the first book in the new adult contemporary romance, Royal Scandal series by author Parker Swift. I really enjoyed Royal Affair. It is the perfect valentines day read, or really a read for any day of the year. It has lots of romance, sexy times, witty banter and great characters. I can’t wait for the next book in the Royal Scandal series, because this one sure did brighten my day. At first, I has no idea what to make of Lydia and Dylan. I loved both of them, but they also each annoyed me in different ways. Lydia is a pretty independent person, and I really admired that about her. It takes guts to pack up and move to another country for an internship, especially one in the highly critical fashion world. But at the same time, she was the type of independent that views accepting help or nice things from other people as a weakness. Which I don’t agree with, and it got to the point… Read more »

{Interview+Giveaway} Rough & Tumble by Rhenna Morgan

{Interview+Giveaway} Rough & Tumble by Rhenna Morgan

I am so excited to have Rhenna Morgan , the author of Rough & Tumble here with us today. Thank you for being here at Book briefs rhenna. Describe Rough & Tumble in a tweet (140 characters or less) What you see isn’t always what you get. What you want isn’t always what you need. Sometimes a woman’s safest in the arms of a dangerous man. Who was more fun to write? Jace or Vivienne? Why? Definitely Jace. For some reason, his scenes flowed very easily. But then, he’d also been taking up space in my head for a year before he finally got screen time. What do you do when you get writers block? It depends on what stage of the book I’m in. Sometimes the answer is as simple as a change in writing environment or a glass of wine. (There’s some truth to, “Write drunk, edit sober.”) Most of the time, though, if I can just write something—even if it’s my grocery list—my words will start coming…. Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} Guardian of Secrets by @BrendaDrake @EntangledTeen @chapterxchapter

{Review+Giveaway} Guardian of Secrets by @BrendaDrake @EntangledTeen @chapterxchapter

Guardian of Secrets by Brenda Drake is the second book in the Library Jumpers series. The Library Jumpers series is a young adult fantasy series, that I am really enjoying. I loved the first book, Thief of Lies, and I liked this one just as much, if not more! Gia was an even better character than she was in the first book, and I think I overall enjoyed this one even  more. Plus, hello they can jump into different libraries. (if you are a library geek like me, you should totally check out Brenda’s guest post on her top favorite libraries from around the world! Its awesome.  See it HERE) Guardian of Secrets picks up where Thief of Lies left off, so you do need to read this series in order to fully understand an enjoy it. Gia is our main character, and she has grown so much in this series already! I think that is what I was the most impressed with. She was a bit on the immature side… Read more »

{ARC Review+Giveaway} Black Dawn by Mallory McCartney @MalMcCartney

{ARC Review+Giveaway} Black Dawn by Mallory McCartney @MalMcCartney

Black Dawn is the first book in a new adult fantasy series by Mallory McCartney. I have classified this book as new adult because the character are in their 20s, but the content is very clean so I can very easily see this also appealing to younger readers and lovers of young adult fantasies. Black Dawn is a really cool story, and is the set up for what looks like it is going to be an awesome series. I really enjoyed book one, but because there was a lot of world building and background setting, I did have some bumps along the road. However, Black Dawn is a story that just kept getting better and better as it went along. And I think I am going to love book two even more than I did book one. Can I please have book two now Mallory?? Black Dawn starts off in multiple perspectives, rapid fire three different people in the first three chapters and throughout the book we get to see… Read more »
