{Top 10 of 2016} Best Book Covers

I love this event. Years that I am really on top of my game, I plan this event out in advance. But this year work has been crazy busy and the holidays just snuck up on me. {Review} Moon Chosen by P.C. Cast

{Review} Moon Chosen by P.C. Cast

Moon Chosen is the first book in the young adult paranormal series, called Tales of a New World by author P.C. Cast. I lhave read and really enjoyed the first 6 books in her house of night series, so I was excited to give this new series a try! I really enjoyed the concept behind the book, but overall the story fell a little flat for me. I so badly wanted to love this one because the summary and the cover totally called to me. But in reality, I found the pacing kind of slow and awkward, and frankly the story was more than a little boring for most of the novel. It did pick up by the end, and I was vaguely interested in seeing where the story was going, but getting through this story took me entirely too long. I kept putting down the book and going back to it, but it never could hold my interest for more than 20 minutes at a time. (which is very… Read more »

2017 Reading Challenges

2017 Reading Challenges

I cannot believe we are almost at 2017! 2016 has flown by. I didn’t participate in any reading challenges for 2016, which was a first for me. So I decided for one of my blogging resolutions, I would like to get back into the reading challenge mode. I love challenges because they help me grab books that are not just review books to read, like some of my older books that I have been putting on, or having found time to get to, and they force me to be more social. I love seeing other people’s progress and checking in with them. I also am hoping to find some new blogs to love. A lot of the blogs I used to follow are no longer blogging, which makes me sad, but that really means I have an opportunity to discover new awesome blogs! So comment below with some blogs you think I should check out, or if you have a challenge I haven’t found yet, let me know that also!… Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} The Diabolic by S.J. Kincaid @SJKincaidBooks @simonteen @RivetedLit

{Review+Giveaway} The Diabolic by S.J. Kincaid @SJKincaidBooks @simonteen @RivetedLit

The Diabolic by S.J. Kincaid is the first in a young adult fantasy series by the same name, and right off the bat I have to say- The Diabolic is tied for my favorite fantasy read of 2016! (and it is so close I can’t decide which is number 1 or number 2, this or Heartless) The Diabolic was an exciting and riveting read. I could not put it down. I carried this book with me everywhere, just in case I had a couple of moments to get in a page throughout my day. And I don’t do that for too many large books. Normally I carry my kindle around for mid days quicky reads, but even though this one was over 400 pages, I couldn’t resist. Also, if you will notice, I put this as the starter for a series. I don’t technically know that is true or not, but the ending (which killed me!) kind of leaves it open for a follow up, and I am so badly… Read more »
