ATTN: This is not a standalone. This is Volume 2 of a 2-part serial. Please read The Darkest Frost, Volume 1 first. Volume 2 begins where Volume 1 left off. -----------------------------------------------
The job seems simple enough at first: go undercover and catch her best friend’s killer. But psychic detective Denieve Knight gets more than she bargained for when she enters Dr. Braeden Frost’s estate as a “housekeeper.”

She's supposed to be sleuthing, not falling under the spell of the enigmatic doctor and his irrepressible, hellion of a brother, Xavier.

Now after two months of working for the man known as “Dr. Death,” she's entangled in a web of secrets and lies. Each discovery only leads to more questions. Though faced with declining health and a storm of confusing feelings and simmering passion for both brothers, Denieve is determined to uncover the truth---consequences be damned. Yet the truth may prove deadly once she discovers just how deep the rabbit hole goes.

Note: This book may be unsuitable for people under 17 years of age due to its use of sexual content, drug and alcohol use, and/or violence.

NA Review My Thoughts

The Darkest Frost Volume 2 is the second and last book in a two book series of the same name by author, Tanya Holmes. I loved part one SO SO much. When I finished the first book, I needed to have the second book. It was all I could think about for days. I was so anxious to start reading that I refreshed my kindle probably 5 times waiting for my review copy to get synced. And then I proceeded to ignore 3 other days of review books so I could read the darkest Frost. This is just one of those books that made me forget the world. The second volume brought a lot of character development and insight that we were able to fully flesh out in the first book because of all the secrets. I loved looking into the brothers past and getting to know them so much better.

This is the second half of a duology that needs to be read together, so I can’t really say too much without spoiling the first book for you. If you have not read this series, you need to. I will set it up for you. Denivere, or Danielle, or D is a psychic detective that is sent to investigate Braeden Frost for the deaths of several of his patients. But you know the drill, Dr. Frost is not at all what he seems, and Danielle falls for him. And then there is his mysterious brother Xavier. And that is all I am telling you. The rest would ruin the awesome story that Tanya Holmes has crafted. Trust me, there are tons of twists and turns and the way everything fits together in the end is pure magic. We got so many answers and I loved the way everything worked out. I wouldn’t have changed a thing.

If you like Gothic romances and paranormal romances, this is a must read for your collection. I cannot get enough of the Frost brothers. I want so much more. I know this is supposed to be the end of the story, but I want more! This will be a re-read book for me anytime I need a good paranormal pick me up. In fact, I kind of want to re-read this right now…from the beginning. I don’t think I will ever be able to get enough of this story. I love it that much.

P.S. because I so want to avoid spoiling the book, I am putting out an open call to anyone that has the read the book and wants to chat about it, I would love to talk with you about all things frost! Let me know!

Oooh man I love psychic detectives – any thing to do with them (even if they are fake). I have a love for all things Psych so it pretty much stems from that, hehe. Glad you enjoyed this one. I haven’t read book 1 but I like the idea of a two book series.

I am kind of curious to see how it ended but I wasn’t that impressed with the first one. I found it to be very boring. 🙁 I am glad you loved it though! 🙂
