I hope you enjoy!

A Tale of Two Centuries by Rachel Harris
Publication date: August 6, 2013 by Entangled Teen
Age Group: Young Adult
Series: My Super Sweet Sixteenth Century #2

Synopsis:

Alessandra D’Angeli is in need of an adventure. Tired of her sixteenth-century

life in Italy and homesick for her time-traveling cousin, Cat, who visited her for a magical week and dazzled her with tales of the future, Alessandra is lost. Until the stars hear her plea.

One mystical spell later, Alessandra appears on Cat’s Beverly Hills doorstep five hundred years in the future. Surrounded by confusing gadgets, scary transportation, and scandalous clothing, Less is hesitant to live the life of a twenty-first century teen…until she meets the infuriating—and infuriatingly handsome—surfer Austin Michaels. Austin challenges everything she believes in…and introduces her to a world filled with possibility.

With the clock ticking, Less knows she must live every moment of her modern life while she still can. But how will she return to the drab life of her past when the future is what holds everything she’s come to love?

Rachel Harris’ Top 5 Book Boyfriends (other than her own)

Book boyfriends. They make us swoon. They make us smile. When it comes to our favorite books, they are sometimes the very best parts. When I sit down to craft my own books, I often start with the hero… and I always develop mad crushes on them. In A Tale of Two Centuries, Austin Michaels totally stole my heart. He’s a bad boy with a sense of humor and a hidden vulnerability, he almost never says the right thing, yet he fights for Alessandra and gives her what she needs.

Since I have such a thing for book boyfriends, I thought I’d share with you some of my favorite book boyfriends. I’d LOVE to know yours!!

Rachel’s Top Five YA Book Boyfriends (other than her own):

1.     Kellan (Thoughtless series) For those of you who haven’t read S.C. Stephens Thoughtless trilogy…just trust me, this man is HOT. His relationship with Kiera may begin with a mistake in judgment, but this man proves the power of true love. I dare any woman to read this series and not fall head over heels for this sexy, bad boy rocker. His singular devotion to the woman he loves is the stuff book boyfriends are made of.

2.     Will (Slammed series) – Yummy boys with poetic hearts…need I say more? Just in case the answer is yes, how about men who are responsible, know what it means to be a man, and know how the meaning of romance, too? Yeah, that’s what I said, which is why Colleen Hoover’s man was a no-brainer for my list.

3.     Avi (How to Ruin series) – Normally when you hear Simone Elkeles’s name, you think of the Perfect Chemistry series. Don’t get me wrong, those brothers floated my boat, too. But there is just something about Avi. Sharp wit, confidence, a sexy army body, and a super human ability to handle Amy’s hilarious screw-ups, he makes my reader heart flutter.

4.     Adam (If I Stay series) – This boy had me from his very first appearance on page. I fell hard for Adam during Mia’s story, how he won her heart, and tried to save her soul. But then came book two, Where She Went, and Gayle Forman did something I didn’t think was possible…she made me fall even deeper. Being in his head, experiencing the intense love he felt or Mia, was almost overwhelming. I’m not sure if I moved a muscle the entire time I inhaled that book. Yeah, he is definitely one of my all-time favorite book boyfriends.

5.     Trace (Kylie Ryans series) – Once upon a time, an author followed me on Twitter. I read her bio and discovered her upcoming debut, Girl with Guitar, featured a country singer heroine. That is so up my alley. I bugged her until she let me read it, and I discovered while the story world was just as fun as I imagined, what stole the show was hot country singing hero, Trace. Guys, there’s just something about sexy country boys that make my heart do funny things. And when said country boy is a bit of a bad boy with an edge and a sensitive, vulnerable core? Holy hot flash!

HONORABLE MENTIONS:

When I sat down to make this list, my top five were relatively easy. They are the book boyfriends that always come to mind. But there are so many others that make my heart go wonky and totally deserve a mention—and if you haven’t read their books, a place on your must read list!

·         Conrad (We’ll Always Have Summer series) – I was a Conrad girl from the beginning!!

·         Jude (Crash series) – Love loyal bad boys? They don’t get any better than Jude. #yum

·         Lucas (Easy) – Another book boyfriend who will ALWAYS own my heart. Tammara Webber knows how to make a swoon-worthy hero, y’all. *fans self*

·         Jordan (Two Way Street) – The book and the book boyfriend that made me fall in love with YA contemporary romance. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve read this book!

·         Dexter (This Lullaby) – Yeah, a persistent, sensitive, charming, hot as heck musician boy will get me every stinking time, y’all.

·         Peter (It’s Not about the Accent) – This book broke me down and built me back up. Peter played a large part in that…for Carolina, he was integral piece in her character arc. I don’t want to say too much because it could spoil what may be one of my favorite books ever, but yeah, this boy does it for me.

As a teen, Rachel Harris threw raging parties that shook her parents’ walls and created embarrassing fodder for future YA novels. As an adult, she reads and writes obsessively, rehashes said embarrassing fodder, and dreams up characters who become her own grown up version of imaginary friends.
She grew up in New Orleans, watching soap operas with her grandmother and staying up late sneak reading her mam’s favorite romance novels. Now a Cajun cowgirl living in Houston, she still stays up too late reading her favorite romances, only now, she can do so openly. She firmly believes life’s problems can be solved with a hot, powdered-sugar-coated beignet or a thick slice of king cake, and that screaming at strangers for cheap, plastic beads is acceptable behavior in certain situations.
She homeschools her two beautiful girls and loves watching reality television with her amazing husband. She writes young adult, new adult, and adult Fun, Flirty Escapes, and LOVES talking with readers!

  1. Thanks so much for hosting me, Michelle! This was such a fun stop 😉

Also, I realize a lot of these book boyfriends fit more into the New Adult realm. But all of these guys are swoon worthy. Looking forward to seeing if any of my favorites made anyone else’s list!

    xoxo
    Rachel

  2. I am a little horrified that I don’t know anyone on that list. I think this needs to be rectified immediately!

I can’t wait to read this series- it really looks awesome!
