Welcome to the Sizzling Summer Giveaway! Where you can win a kindle fire filled with awesome YA titles (giveaway at bottom of post)
But this is no ordinary giveaway event. Nope, as if a kindle fire filled with stories wasn’t enough, there are also tons of author guest posts for your enjoyment!
I have Kystal Wade, author of Wilde’s Fire, here with me today to talk about her dream cast.
Movie Dream Cast! by Krystal Wade
Ahh. Every writer’s dream, I think, is to see their characters born of blood, sweat, tears—and sleepless nights—on the big screen. I know that’s one of my dreams. Not “the” dream, but definitely part of it.
When I wrote Wilde’s Fire I saw each of my characters in exceptional clarity.
Arland and his strong jaw line, his shoulder length hair, and slightly crooked nose, his gentle demeanor coupled with out of this world masculinity. Every time I thought of him, I saw Henry Cavill. You all might recognize him from the Man of Steel movie circulating through theaters right now, but I’ve had my eyes on him since his days on The Tudors.
So beautiful.
For Kate, she’s young and soft, she’s naïve about the world and everything “out there”. When I look at her, I see innocence, rosy cheeks, bright eyes, a gentle exterior hiding a strong, determined interior. I see Evan Rachel Wood with darker hair and lighter eyes, the younger version.
For Brad, the football player build, the sexy, confident guy in life but too shy to tell a girl he loves her, I see Chris Evans. He’s been in so many movies: Captain America, The Avengers, Fantastic 4, etc, etc, etc. The reason I like Chris is because he’s so versatile. He plays good guys with a dark streak, broken streak, weak past. Never mind how great looking he is!
And, of course, we can’t forget PERTH! I know he doesn’t play a huge role in Wilde’s Fire, but you know something’s up with him, and let’s face it, the rest of the series focuses heavily on him. For Perth, the short guy with jagged features, the guy who, when he looks at you, gives you the creeps. He’s plotting. He’s aching. He’s totally unsure of who he is and who he wants to be. And for him, I see Charlie Bewley. You all might remember him from Twilight. And last, but certainly not least, Flanna. I don’t think there’s anyone in this world better suited to play Flanna, the feisty redhead with crystal blue eyes who is ALWAYS into everyone else’s business, than Deborah Ann Woll. This girl got her start on True Blood (at least her BIG start), and though she was introduced as a timid character, she’s certainly come out of that shell and made a splash on the show. She’s probably one of my faves—you know, outside of Eric. Sigh. (Photo Courtesy of: http://www.luckydrunks.com/wallpapers/?page_id=329)
So, that’s it for now. Certainly there are a lot of characters I’ve left out, but these five are so important! I hope you’ve enjoyed, and I hope you’ll check out Wilde’sFire.
Wilde’s Fire by Krystal Wade
Paperback, 324 pages
Published May 13th 2012 by Curiosity Quills Press
“There is no pain in this death, only peace, knowing I am going to die with the one
I love the most.” – Katriona Wilde. Katriona Wilde has never wondered what it would feel like to have everything she’s ever known and loved ripped away, but she is about to find out. When she inadvertently leads her sister and best friend through a portal into a world she’s dreamed of for six years, she finds herself faced with more than just the frightening creatures in front of her. Kate’s forced to accept a new truth: her entire life has been a lie, and those closest to her have betrayed her. What’s worse, she has no control over her new future, and it’s full of magic and horrors from which nightmares are made. Will Kate discover and learn to control who she really is in time to save the ones she loves, or will all be lost?
Krystal Wade can be found in the sluglines outside Washington D.C. every morning, Monday through Friday. With coffee in hand, iPod plugged in, and strangers–who sometimes snore, smell, or have incredibly bad gas–sitting next to her, she zones out and thinks of fantastical worlds for you and me to read. How else can she cope with a fifty mile commute?
Good thing she has her husband and three kids to go home to. They keep her sane.
