Summary:

All her life, Breena had always dreamed about fairies as though she lived among them…beautiful fairies living among mortals and living in Feyland. In her dreams, he was always there the breathtakingly handsome but dangerous Winter Prince, Kian, who is her intended. When Breena turns sixteen, she begins seeing fairies and other creatures mortals don t see. Her best friend Logan, suddenly acts very protective. Then she sees Kian, who seems intent on finding her and carrying her off to Feyland. That’s fine and all, but for the fact that humans rarely survive a trip to Feyland, a kiss from a fairy generally means death to the human unless that human has fairy blood in them or is very strong, and although Kian seemed to be her intended, he seems to hate her and wants her dead.
This edgy tale about beautiful and dangerous fairies, based on Dutch lore, will leave you breathless…

I have decided that I love Fey books. The Fey are a relatively new paranormal for me. I have read a few books surrounding the fey, and I have really enjoyed almost all of them. The thing I like about the fey is that I have read so many different characterizations of them, and Bitter Frost was no exception. I loved learning about Feyland and the winter and summer court from Bitter Frost.

Bree sure does adapt to change quickly. Man, she went from being a normal girl to a fierce faerie princess warrior in a few days! She struggled sometimes, but she never gave up. She just saw what she needed to do and she found a way to do it. She has so much courage, it was impressive. Bree’s best friend, Logan is adorable and I would like to keep him for myself. I need a guy that can cook. 🙂 I loved how he would stand up for Bree at school with all of the mean girls.

Bree has been having these vivid dreams, and then she paints them in amazing detail the next day. And then she went to Feyland through one of the paintings! I thought the magical paintings were an awesome detail to the story. I actually really loved how we learned so much about the land and customs of the fey. We learned through question and answer dialogue, which broke it up and made it interesting.

I am super excited that I found the Frost series by Kailin Gow. And the 8th book in the series was just released so if you fall in love with the series like I am, you can read all the books in a row! Much better than having to wait a year in between each one.

  1. I love Fae books as well, you never know what you are going to get when you encounter the Fae. I have eyed this series for awhile, and I just can’t find the time. If you enjoy the Fae be sure to read KM Monin’s Fae Fever series.
