{Blog Tour Excerpt} Lily Witch Hunter by Emma Hart

November 3, 2012 Blog Tours, excerpt 4

Welcome to my stop on the Lily the Witch Hunter blog tour.
I am taking the Professional Responsibility section of the Multi State bar exam today (Saturday) and I have also been experiencing some very annoying computer problems.  (I had to have my sister get this post up)
Once I get my computer working again, and after I get back from my exam, I will try and get my review of the book up. But until then, please enjoy this excerpt 🙂

YA Paranormal
Title: Lily the Witch Hunter – Ombinus
Series: The Mauve Legacy books 1-4
Author: Emma Hart
Date Published: 9/27/12

Witches. Vampires. Werewolves. Demons.
Moving to Salem introduces Lily Mauve to a whole new world, one she is in the centre of.
If making new friends and falling in love isn’t enough, there’s also the fact she’s a witch.
A witch destined to be a triple goddess and defeat the man who has hunted her kind for over three hundred years.
Faced with heartbreak, never-ending family secrets, lies and betrayal, she must stand strong and be the leader everyone knows she can be.
Lily thinks the war will end in Salem, because destroying Henry Luther is her birthright, isn’t it?

“Spencer you get your filthy little witch ass down here right now you dirty coward!” I shouted into the trees around me, knowing most of the coven house was watching from the doorway and front room windows.
He dropped beside me and I spun, glaring at him.
“Took you long enough to figure out.” He remarked smugly.
“Oh I didn’t figure it out, it seems your girlfriend isn’t as loyal as you once thought.” I said icily. “How long?”
He stared at me blankly.
“How. Long?” I repeated, louder.
“Two months.. maybe three?” He shrugged and leant against the tree trunk. “You’re clever for a wimpy kid witch.”
“Wimpy kid witch?” I laughed bitterly. “I’ve got more balls than all of you scumbags put together!”
“Apparently.” He chuckled and shot a vine at me from his wrist. I countered with a bolt of electricity, cutting it off before it could get near me. So he was an Earth witch.. Interesting..
“Think you can take me on, Spence?” I said sarcastically, raising an eyebrow and placing a hand on my hip.
“Think a lot of yourself, don’t you, Lily?” He replied.
“Not at all. But if you wanna try it, bring it.”
Something kicked at my ankles and looking down, I saw vines growing from the Earth.
“Smart move.” I acknowledged. “But not smart enough.”
I conjured a ring of fire around my feet, immediately cutting off the vines progress and so began our game of cat and mouse.
Vine. Lightening. Vine. Lightening. Vine. Lightening. Vine. Lightening.
The earth began to rumble under me but I stood my ground, my protective ring of fire keeping me safe. As we both fought for the upper hand, Grandma Bea’s words from yesterday came back to me.
‘What if you could save them by whacking their attacker over the head with a heavy object?’
What if indeed…
Throwing a ball of fire towards Spencer’s feet, I scanned the ground around me, my eyes settling upon a heavy branch. Ducking to avoid a vine heading straight for my neck, I focused on the branch, allowing my emotions from the chat with Felicity to control the movement. The thick branch sped through the trees towards Spencer. I smirked as it rendered him unconscious with a ceremonious ‘thwack’ on the back of the head. He collapsed onto the gravel of the driveway and I put out the fire.
Jerome was at my side in a second.
“Gods, Lily. You never cease to amaze me.”
“Did I forget to mention my new power?” I said innocently, my legs trembling slightly as my adrenaline subsided.
Two vampires picked Spencer up and carried him inside the house, presumably to the cells under Felicity’s.
“Oh.” I cocked my head. “I’m telekinetic.”
He eyed me suspiciously. “Case of the moving mug solved, then.”
I grinned, my eyes twinkling mischievously.

Author Bio

Emma Hart is a young mum/maid/launderette/personal chef/author who lives in Barnstaple,
Devon in England. She lives with a man bearing the title fiancé who is incapable of
picking up dirty socks and their one year old little monster who currently shouts ‘quack’ at
When she’s not writing or being mum, she enjoys sitting down with a good book to get
five minutes peace, which almost never happens. She freely admits to hating talent shows
on TV, (The Voice, Xfactor etc) but being completely addicted to them and unable to stop
watching. Emma believes there are only two men in the world who can say they truly
understand women – their names are Ben & Jerry – because if you didn’t understand women
there’s no way you could create ice-cream that good.
She also admits to being a bit eBay obsessive. You will find at least 200 items on her watch
list at any one time. Little girl’s shoes is another love of hers – just as well because her
daughter grows incredibly quickly. Sadly, this is the only one of her obsessions she is able
to justify.
