Bout of Books Read-a-Thon

Thats right! I am doing BACK TO BACK READ-A-THONS!! Is that super ambitious or just flat out crazy? I think it just means more fun! I just finished the wrapping up the summer readathon and I managed to read 9 books! I am hoping to read 7/8 for this one.

Bout of Books 5.0 is here! I’ll be updating mostly on this post and with another post for my wrap up. What is bout of books?? Well, I am glad you asked!

The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, August 13th and runs through Sunday, August 19th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure, and the only reading competition is between you and your usual number of books read in a week. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 5.0 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. -From the Bout of Books 5.0 team

Time devoted to reading: I am on vacation this week in North Carolina. I will be going white water rafting and to an amusement park on tuesday and wednesday so I probably won’t be able to read much on those days, but I plan on reading as much as possible every other day.

  • Read seven books
  • Read two review books that are NOT for blog tours
  • check in on twitter whenever I can
  • Participate in at least two challenges (see the Official Schedule for all the challenges and chats)

  1. Glitch by Heather Anasatasiu
  2. Nocturnal by Chelsea m. Cameron
  3. Nightmare by Chelsea m. Cameron
  4. Great Aunt Sophia’s Lessons for Bombshells by Lisa Cach

Challenges!

I have participated in about 4 challenges so far but most of them I have just answered in the comments on the blogs. But today’s challenge I am going to put in this post!

Day 5 challenges:
If you want to enter this challenge you can find it on Pages of Forbidden Love

The Challenge Questions:
1~ What book are you most looking forward to based on summary alone? Feel free to show off the summary!

tick, tick, tick, tick, tick

answer: Unravel Me! Here is the summary:

it’s almosttime for war.
Juliette has escaped to Omega Point. It is a place for people like her—people with gifts—and it is also the headquarters of the rebel resistance.
She’s finally free from The Reestablishment, free from their plan to use her as a weapon, and free to love Adam. But Juliette will never be free from her lethal touch.
Or from Warner, who wants Juliette more than she ever thought possible.
In this exhilarating sequel to Shatter Me, Juliette has to make life-changing decisions between what she wants and what she thinks is right. Decisions that might involve choosing between her heart—and Adam’s life

2~ What book are you most looking forward to based on cover art alone? Feel free to show off the beautiful cover art!

Alice in Zombieland by Gene Showalter

I just love this cover. It fits so well with the alice in wonderland theme. It just makes me want to read it ASAP!

Join in on the Read-a-thon and tell me your goals!

Wrap Up!!

My original goals were to read 7 books. I came super close. I read 6 books and 1/4. I read all of the books on my original list but I substituted Stitch by Samantha Durante for Cold Blood. I ended up reading over 2000 pages, plus I went White Water Rafting, went to Carowinds amusement park and rode rollercoasters all day long, and even visited the villiage in north carolina where district 12 from the hunger games was
filmed. I had a blast this week!

  1. Hey there! I’m doing Summer Wraup-Up and Bout of Books, too! – I’m just…not quite as successful as you are. I think I’ve said it before but really – you are quite a crazy person 🙂 9 books? I mean, seriously, nine? How do you do that? Well, I hope you are just as successful this week as you’ve been last week. And have a ton of fun!

  2. Yay! You are doing bout of books too,I am doing it as a backup back readathon too 🙂 wow you have set some immense goals there, good luck with them 🙂 some great books there,I want to read Glitch too. Hope u have a fun week 🙂 enjoy the reading and your vacation xxx

  3. I hope you are able to read all of those books you have listed. They all look so good and I have hardly heard anything about most of them so I shall have to look into their summaries.
