{Bookish News} Cool new way to give ebooks as gifts!

July 18, 2012 Uncategorized 3

Hey guys! I just wanted to share this new thing in ebooks.

This site called Livrada is such a cool idea. You can buy a book gift card for a specific book. Then the person you are giving the book to gets a little gift card that looks just like the book they will be reading. How cute.

Here is what the site describes their gift cards as-

“We are launching 6 New York Times best selling titles (including 50 Shades of Grey) in ALL Target stores on July 15th and they will make the perfect, personal gift for any e-reader on your list. There is nothing like this as we are the first ones to make it possible to give an e-book as a gift, in a personal and tangible way. No more gift via email or generic gift cards. Our gift cards are replicas of the actual book cover! So grabbing a quick gift, no longer has to feel impersonal.”

Sounds neat right? I like that you can go into any local target and pick up an actual gift card, that is pretty nice and a cuter way to send a kindle book. Otherwise you just have to email them the book.

Here are the book titles that are currently available

Fifty Shades of Grey
The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest
State of Wonder
Gone Girl
Charles Street
Odd Thomas

I love that the gift cards have the actual cover of the book that they will be used for.

I also really like their tagline-

Livrada – making e-book gifting personal

So what do you think?

*Note: I did not get paid by Livrada or anyone to talk about this product. I just thought it was a cool concept and wanted to share it with you. All opinions are my own and are honest.

The selection isn’t the greatest yet, but I agree, it’s a great idea! 😀 I’ll definitely have to check them out again once they have more titles. 😀

    Thanks for sharing, Michelle! 😀
