A Beautiful Dark by Jocelyn Davies
On the night of Skye’s seventeenth birthday, she meets two enigmatic strangers. Complete opposites;like fire and ice;Asher is dark and wild, while Devin is fair and aloof. Their sudden appearance sends Skye’s life into a tailspin. She has no idea what they want, or why they seem to follow her every move only that their presence coincides with a flurry of strange events. Soon she begins to doubt not just the identity of the two boys, but also the truth about her own past.
In the dead of a bitingly cold Colorado winter, Skye finds herself coming to terms with the impossible secret that threatens to shatter her world. Torn between Asher, who she can’t help falling for, and Devin, who she can’t stay away from, the consequences of Skye’s choice will reach further than the three of them could ever imagine.
This is my first angel book, and it set the angel bar REALLY HIGH!! I loved a Beautiful Dark so much! I could not put it down.
The story had me yo-yoing between Asher and Devon so many times. I felt like I was getting whiplash. I am normally never whishy-washy with my boy choices. I normally pick a winner and a loser, black and white. Which is funny- because here there was a black and a white and I could not make up my mind! I think that I am on team Asher, but it was not a landslide victory by any means. Devon just had something about him, and they both seemed to genuinely like Skye.
This is one of my favorite love triangles ever. I cannot wait to see what is going to happen between them all in the next book. I know it is going to be good.
Skye was such an interesting character. I kept trying to guess what her powers were going to be. I had the general idea down before it was revealed in the book, but A beautiful Dark kept throwing me for loops. Just enough to keep me interested. ok fine, more than just interested.
A beautiful dark is a stunning first book in what is sure to be an awesome series. One of my favorites for the year. I can’t wait to see what is going to happen with Skye next. I need to go read some more angel books asap.
I’m so glad you liked it! I haven’t been much of a fan of angel books but maybe this will change my mind a little! 😀

Cool! I read the first couple chapters of this book in a sample and it seemed great, and now I just want to read it more. Thanks for a great review!
I do like stories about Angels, but most are just so-so. This will definitely make my reading list thank you.
This wasn’t one of my favorites. I did enjoy it, but I got so frustrated with Skye because I felt like she was all about the boys and not about the other huge, more important things going on around her. I can understand to an extent how guys can suck up a lot of your thoughts, but I think if I was in her situation, my mind would be off the boys a lot more. Other than that, I liked the concept. I am interested in the sequel, and I really hope there is a decision made where the dudes are concerned. On another note, I am crazy about the covers.
