Summary (from Goodreads)

Novalee Jensen thought what happened in Vegas would stay in Vegas, but two years later, her Vegas indiscretion shows up in her bar. Novalee’s fears come true as the sudden appearance of the stranger brings questions everyone wants answers to, and the secret she’s kept to herself for so long is exposed.
Dean Philips is on a mission to find his wife and bring her back to Nevada, all without exposing his own secrets and lies. Lies that could not only cost him his fortune, but also the woman he’s yearned to know since that fateful night two years ago

I am always looking for fun, interesting and unique contemporary books. For some reason, unique plotlines are a lot harder to come by in contemporary books. (at least the in the ones I have been reading- leave me suggestions if you think I am flat our wrong)Last Call, however, was pretty unique and certainly a fun read.

I really enjoyed it. I loved how strong the main character was. Novalee didn’t take anything from anyone. She was a bit too closed off at times, but that was completely understandable because of her past. I really enjoyed this story. As I was reading, I kept wondering how things were going to turn out. It could have gone in very different directions. And the cool thing is that each of the different paths would have been believable. I liked that the book kept you guessing.

Last call is a really fluid read. It just flows right along- I had no problem reading it really quickly. I enjoyed the story. I would have been really mad at Dean, and I honestly don’t even know what I would have done if I was in her shoes. But I will tell you think- the two of them do take one hell of a journey together 😉 They certainly had a lot of heat. Last Call is a good read.

3.5/5 Gavels

  1. This sounds like a fast, fun read. I can’t wait to find out what happens when she opens up her door to face Dean two years later…I can’t imagine being in her shoes!

  2. This sounds like an intriguing story. Something a little different. Just from reading your review, I like Novalee already.
