Summary (from Goodreads)

Love. Lies. Magick. Betrayal.Alexis Allcroft is used to being different, but nothing could have prepared her for the buried secrets about to be revealed. With her seventeenth birthday approaching the only thing on Alexis Allcroft’s mind other than her birthday party is Sebastian Valto, the hot new guy in school.
Things suddenly take a strange twist, and in an effort to take the spotlight off herself, a spell backfires and her secrets are revealed as well; secrets she didn’t know existed. With her world quickly spinning out of control, Alexis realizes no one is what they appear to be, not even herself! Alexis will soon learn that family secrets run deep, blood deep….

This book was a really quick read. But even though it was short A LOT happens in Betrayed. I think it sets up, what is probably going to be a very interesting series.

Alexis’ powers are what interested me most in this book. I think her unique combination is going to prove really cool and different. I can’t wait to see what she is going to do with her powers and how they develop and strengthen. I hope her powers is going to be the main focus of the next book. Everything happened so fast, and I wish there was a little bit more detail in the story.

I really liked how everything was set in Betrayed. Alexis is from a small, conservative town and she is not the typical resident. I really liked her. I hope we are going to see more of her friend’s in the other books, because I would really like to see how they develop and how they react to some of Alexis’ secrets.

Sebastian was nice, but we didn’t really get to learn too much about him. I wish there was little bit more development on his part. He seemed to like Alexis so fast, it was not very believable. But I can definitely see a really good relationship between them. There were some really good moments in Betrayed between the two of them. I hope to see a lot more of that in the next book as well. 🙂

Overall, Betrayed was good and I enjoyed reading it. It was a little bit choppy in parts, but the story line was good. I can’t wait to see where this story is going to go. It has a lot of promise. I love a good blood witch story! 🙂

3/5 Gavels
