Summary(from Goodreads):

Tamsin Greene comes from a long line of witches, and she was supposed to be one of the most Talented among them. But Tamsin’s magic never showed up. Now seventeen, Tamsin attends boarding school in Manhattan, far from her family. But when a handsome young professor mistakes her for her very Talented sister, Tamsin agrees to find a lost family heirloom for him. The search—and the stranger—will prove to be more sinister than they first appeared, ultimately sending Tamsin on a treasure hunt through time that will unlock the secret of her true identity, unearth the sins of her family, and unleash a power so vengeful that it could destroy them all. This is a spellbinding display of storytelling that will exhilarate, enthrall, and thoroughly enchant.

My Review:
I really liked this book. This book was about Witches, but instead of calling themselves witches they said that they had a “talent”. Tamsin in the main character in this story and she has not developed her “talent” so she is kind of the family outcast. As a result she is a little snarky, which I loved! I thought she was a really enjoyable character. I really like how she did not like her name for the whole book, and then she finally figured out why she was named Tamsin. I thought that was a really cute reason. I liked it.

Speaking of enjoyable characters, I want Gabriel all to myself please! He is awesome, and he clearly likes Tam a lot. I thought it was so cute that he kept asking her why she never wrote back to him. He sounded so sad and lost every time he brought it up.

The storyline was really cool, and they get to time travel! Really fun, I was intrigued the whole time I was reading and I devoured this book in one sitting. I just couldn’t stop reading. I had to know what was going to happen and how the whole book pieced together. The setting for everything just seemed so mysterious, and I loved how everything came together in the end.

I cannot wait for the second book, Always a Witch, coming out in August 2011. I really wish it was coming out right now, August seems too far away!

This was a really great book and a very enthralling read! And the cover is beautiful!

 5/5 Gavels.
