Summary (from Goodreads)
City of Fallen Angels takes place two months after the events of City of Glass. In it, a mysterious someone’s killing the Shadowhunters who used to be in Valentine’s Circle and displaying their bodies around New York City in a manner designed to provoke hostility between Downworlders and Shadowhunters, leaving tensions running high in the city and disrupting Clary’s plan to lead as normal a life as she can — training to be a Shadowhunter, and pursuing her relationship with Jace. As Jace and Clary delve into the issue of the murdered Shadowhunters, they discover a mystery that has deeply personal consequences for them — consequences that may strengthen their relationship, or rip it apart forever.

Meanwhile, internecine warfare among vampires is tearing the Downworld community apart, and only Simon — the Daylighter who everyone wants on their side — can decide the outcome; too bad he wants nothing to do with Downworld politics. Love, blood, betrayal and revenge: the stakes are higher than ever in City of Fallen Angels.

My Review:
There will be spoilers!

I love this series, but I must say this was my least favorite of the books so far. I don’t really know what it was, The plot was interesting and enough new things happened to keep making me want to read but I wasn’t as excited as I was in the other books. Don’t get me wrong, I still loved this book. Just not quite as much as the first three.

I love this series, but I must say this was my least favorite of the books so far. I don’t really know what it was, The plot was interesting and enough new things happened to keep making me want to read but I wasn’t as excited as I was in the other books. I think it was Jace that bugged me the most. And yes, I do know that it wasn’t his fault and he wasn’t being completely himself. But that still doesn’t mean I can’t like this Jace a little less. I loved Jace so much in the first three books, but because of horrible Lilith and Sebastian, they made Jace moody and conflicted and he took it out on Clary. And as a result, there were not as many Jace and Clary goodness scenes in this book.

But I loved Isabel in this book! I thought she made some major breakthroughs at the end about why she never gets serious with anyone. Simon was really enjoyable in this book too. I liked reading about him and getting to see more of him here. I also really liked that Maia is starting to maybe find someone else. Because I really like her, and I don’t want her to disappear from the series or become really bitter all the time about what Simon did.

The cliffhanger was pretty brutal at the end, I really want to find out what is going to happen next.

I love this series and I want to see tons more of Jace, but I really want to see some more of happy Jace if at all possible.

4/5 Gavels.

I totally agree: this was my least favorite of the series. I finished the first three books in, like, two days. But it took me a while to finish CoFA–maybe it was Jace, maybe it was the whole storyline, but something about it just didn’t grab be the way City of Ashes, Bones and Glass did.

    Great review!

It took me forever to read this book and there too is something I really didn’t like about it. Your review sums it up very good.
