Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark won the annual competition described in Hunger Games, but the aftermath leaves these victors with no sense of triumph. Instead, they have become the poster boys for a rebellion that they never planned to lead. That new, unwanted status puts them in the bull’s-eye for merciless revenge by The Capitol.
*there will be spoilers* if you have not read this trilogy though, go do it. Right now, don’t even bother to turn your computer off. Just run to the nearest store/library/e-reader and start reading! You will not regret it!
Seriously I wish I had read this series when it first came out so I could re-read it over and over again.
I did not expect for them to go back into the hunger games!(in the quarter quell) That was a big twist for me.
As creepy and disturbing as the actual hunger games are, the arenas kind of fascinate me. The amount of time and things that are put into them is crazy! i’m more than a little in love with Peeta, and Katniss too! I really liked the development between them in this book. Peeta is way smarter than I was initially giving him credit for, the whole baby thing was genius.
I have nothing bad to say about this book. Except that I wish there was more than one book left…
I think in some ways the arena may be my favorite part of this book. It’s so detailed, yet at the same time, so disturbing. Great review!
Thanks! And I agree, the details make the arenas come alive.
I loved this book. definitely my favourite of the series! I just wanted to scream when Katniss found out she would have to go back into the hunger games, and then I was so worried that they were going to kill peter off! I agree, I couldn’t put it down!
It seems that we both had simpler ideas about this book.
Nice review! Catching Fire is one of my fave from the series and earn 5 stars from me. I can’t wait for the movie to comes out next year. So curious with who’s gonna play the role of Finnick Odair!
I loved this trilogy. Amazing book, can’t wait to see the movie! Thanks for the review.
Glad to see you liked Catching Fire. I read the Hunger Games, but haven’t gotten to this yet. Great review 🙂
